The month of February is connected to Valentine’s Day for many, whether you like this holiday or you think it is just another marketing ploy. At the end of the day, any holiday is what we make it to be, so perhaps this year, more than ever before, we should celebrate love. Why? Because it is amazing how an intangible feeling can be such a tangible force.

Love comes in all shapes, sizes and is expressed in many ways by all the creatures on this planet. There is room for all. There is room for love.

There is no way to sugar coat this, February begins with a bang, as the Sun squares aggressive Mars in stubborn Taurus on February 1st. We are fully aware that all people are born free. We may not be the same, but we are equal and all share the right to indulge in our basic human rights. Why do we then, try so hard to take those rights away from one another? Is it human nature? I believe it is not. It is lack of love. When we are not loved we become insecure. Those insecurities lower our self esteem, and ‘love’ becomes a condition we chase incessantly but to no avail. Defining love becomes a priority in February. This is a very tensed month and love is our only EXIT sign. Read through to understand how. Communication is not clear, we feel and are trapped, and sudden events can wind us up significantly (Mercury is Rx and Saturn squares Uranus throughout the month-here is were the servant becomes the master, or begins to). Words can break bones and aggressive actions may cause permanent physical and mental damage. This can escalate on February 7-8 and 16-24 (Saturn in direct square with Uranus, first one in 2021) and also applies to rocky marriages/partnerships (Venus squares Uranus on the 7th). The ray of light? Astrologically speaking, this is Venus, planet of love, wealth and beauty. Practically speaking, if you are in a position of power, understand that you will be wealthier if others prosper as well. On February 6 Venus conjuncts Saturn. Our resources are limited and patience is key. Be kind to your loved ones. If you are looking for someone to blame, at least turn your energy to the actual culprits. Did you keep the positive traits from the New Moon of January 13 (healthy ambition, prudence, practicality, discipline, humor and artistic flair) and tossed the negative ones (greed, greed and greed)? Good. You can get ready for new beginnings, as there is a New Moon in Aquarius at 23 degrees 17 minutes on the 11th. It affects us all (mostly Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius or people with points to your chart here), as this humanitarian moon finds the Sun, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn, also in Aquarius. Translation? Progressive thinking, inventions and technology can help humanity move forward, when used for the collective benefit. On the day, Venus comes back to the rescue, as she conjuncts Jupiter and gives us room to address and resolve love or money issues, with a degree of prosperity, when love guides us. On the 13th Venus conjuncts Mercury and emphasis is placed on tolerance and acceptance. We do not have to understand or even like shapes of love that are not keen to what we know, but we ought to allow others room to enjoy their own. Mercury is however retrograde, so deception or inadequate information in love or money matters, is possible. On the 14th, Mars sextiles Neptune and Mercury conjuncts Jupiter on the 14 and 15, in team player Aquarius. This can be a Happy Valentine’s day! Just do not make promises lightly. Focus on love, this includes volunteer work, a night with friends, not just romance and have a splendid day. The Sun enters altruistic and escapist Pisces on the 19th and softens aggressive or authoritative tendencies, especially in archetypal love matters (Mars squares Venus). Mercury turns direct on the 21st! Time to go over contracts, agreements or communicate our true needs with clarity and precision. The days that follow until the 26th, we can put love, money, settlements and negotiation packages with authorities or relatives in position of power -more so male- in order. A discovery or invention can change the course of history, provided it coincides with the humanitarian oriented times. Traditionally, a Full Moon like this urges us to find the balance between our practical side, focus on our daily work routine, health and obsessions, against our spirituality, service to others and escapism. This specific Moon will be felt in a collective level, under explosive, reactive and justice seeking global conditions, as the almost extinct global middle class has reached its ceiling of frustration. Things are not what they appear to be (Neptune), so use one of the positive mutable traits, flexibility of mind and openness to both sides, as what seems beneficial turns out not to be and vice versa.
