As world events unfold during August, please take a brief look at the general Tips for July regarding the reference to elders and immigrants, along with this months ‘Giving Back’ scroll down section under ‘About Me’. Hopefully it will simultaneously schock you and illuminate you.

It is about time the life-giving force of the Sun shines bright and strong above us all!
Our daily lives will be infused with creativity, joy, and bravery! It has been a long winter indeed in the northern hemisphere, and although the temperatures have risen, our overall mood has not. The southern hemisphere enjoyed a better summer that had, however, its good moments snatched away as autumn rolled in.

Before i go into details regarding our solar system’s planetary interactions and how they relate to us, let us very briefly introduce our planets in order of distance from the sun, closest to furthest, to the newcomers who are curious enough to visit but really have no clue about astrology and zodiac signs.

• Sun: center of our galaxy, associated with Leo, sign of creative force-Helios in ancient Greece, the god of light.
• Mercury: nearest to the sun and fastest moving, associated with Gemini and Virgo, signs of communication-Hermes in ancient Greece, messenger for the gods.
• Venus: next in line and second brightest star on our sky, associated with Taurus and Libra, signs of strength and beauty-Aphrodite in ancient Greece, goddess of love.
• Earth: following suit, the planet of life growth, associated only by element (earth) with Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn- Gaia in ancient Greece, the primal mother earth goddess.
• Moon: the earth’s only natural satellite, associated with the sign of Cancer, sign of nurture- Artemis goddess of hunting and a healer of women.
• Mars: the red planet, associated with Aries, sign of assertion and drive –Aris in ancient Greece, god of war.
• Jupiter: the largest planet of our system radiates double the light it receives from the sun, associated with Sagittarius, sign of expansion and illumination- Zeus, in ancient Greece the god of gods.
• Saturn: next the ringed majestic planet of order, associated with Capricorn, sign of duty and dependability-in ancient Greece the god Pan, protector of woodlands and shepherds.
• Uranus: the gas giant, associated with Aquarius, the sign of innovation- Aquarius or beautiful Ganymede, the son of Trojan king Tros, was taken to Mount Olympus by Zeus to act as cup-carrier to the gods.
• Neptune: a striking blue giant, associated with Pisces, the sign of healing and illusion- in ancient Greece representing the fish into which Aphrodite and her son Eros transformed
• Pluto: the yellow dwarf planet or huge asteroid, associated with Scorpio, the intense truth-seeker- he was called on earth by Goddess Artemis to kill Orion who wanted to destroy all animals.

Will August be equally brilliant for all? No, it would be inaccurate to claim so, but we can all tap into its positive energy pool and handle our affairs accordingly. A weak situation will break, a strong one will be exalted. Let us see how all the above is reflected in our daily lives, through the August sky.
Unpredictable and freedom-loving Uranus is the protagonist during August! On July 31st Mercury in Cancer turns direct and alas information, transportation and of course communication gets back on track. On the same day at 23:12 EDT a creative and sparkly New Moon in Leo emerges! The same applies to August 1st for Athens Greece EEST time zone. This is a great time to begin all creative endeavors like a play, a project, a family or partnership. Do keep the vivacious energy and press on with your plans but do not try to force the issue before August 7th when jovial Jupiter trines the Sun, a superbly positive aspect indeed.
On August 2nd a restless Uranus squares Venus, an aspect that is about all or nothing both in love and business. The realization of an ending to any form of partnership is undoubtedly unnerving, but it seems to be the best way for the old to make way for the new. The global events that have been unfolding since Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008 have contributed to this build-up of emotions and frustration. Let go of the old baggage to make room for the bountiful gifts this August has to offer. On August 8, August 9 only for EDT, Jupiter* trines Venus, forming a lovely and generous aspect regarding love, money, and all related issues, so indulge! Get the party started when brilliant Jupiter* turns direct on the 11th, August 12 for EDT. If you managed to weather the July storms rejoice because your reward has arrived! Remember bolt jolting Uranus*? On the same day, it becomes stationary, as it prepares for its retrograde Rx motion and makes for a most welcomed, toned down, roller coaster ride. Less disruption allows for better organizing and executing plans. August 14, Mercury brings good news just in time before the Full Moon the very next day.

Please bear in mind, while enjoying the bounties of August, to keep the hyperbole, in what we say and do, in check. The Full Moon on August 15 at 22 degrees Aquarius opposes the Sun, Venus, and Mars in Leo, a reminder that not everything that shines is gold. Balance is never found in extremes, so being too cold or too hot will only negatively intensify any pending or emerging issues. Practically speaking, if you are into extreme sports but have been recovering from an injury or out of the game in a while, do consult your physician before embarking on any adventure. Drive carefully. Keep your children involved in activities without losing touch. Be generous but not wasteful. Or arrogant. Keep an eye on aggressive politicians, take your power back by staying informed and voting.

On August 18 fiery Mars enters Virgo and gets organized and grounded. So does Venus on the 22nd and the 26th as it forms a beautiful trine with Uranus, love, and money here it comes! August 28-29 Mars also trines Uranus, we have a touch-down! August 30th Mercury, in its natural Virgo position, is all about clarity and detail in communication and contract agreements. On the same day, the Sun in Virgo trines Uranus* and infuses our endeavors with innovation, positive and constructive energy. Last but not least, a New Moon in 6 degrees Virgo emerges, still on August 30-31, with Uranus also in 6 degrees Taurus, supporting new beginnings. Hopefully, you managed to maintain an even keel attitude throughout June-July, as the Mars-Venus conjunction solidifies your new love connection, business plan/partnership.

I wish to dedicate the following summer song to two groups of people; a) all the brave, broken hearts out there that have endured, since the last Pluto-Uranus square in March 2015, but are lucky to be born or live in more affluent nations. YOU are becoming a force to be reckoned with! I also dedicate this song to b) everyone else on our planet, that is still enduring, and is not as lucky. This August and its full moon is also about a collective awakening. YOU ARE a force to be reckoned with!

Happy and Prosperous August Virgo! Order, method, and meditation sound like music to your ears. This is what the first half of August is about, for most of you, so rejoice! Virgos who are not able to take time off or have to be part of a group,

do not fret. After the Full Moon on August 15, you will have your chance to some personal time as well. I need to re-emphasize my belief that Virgos are going to be the center of attention once again, especially those involved in media, design, law, and education. A great many Mercurial offspring were tested at all levels during 2007-2010. You are about to get your groove back, so please embrace the changes during the first two weeks of August. Between May 2019 and now, you embark on a brand new exciting journey.
Your ruling planet Mercury turns direct July 31st. This, of course, does enable a clearer communication path. However, make sure that all meetings, contract agreements, and scholarly pursuits are scrutinized.
