Keeping our sense of humor and staying emotionally stable, will make or break us, in July. In order to make the most of this month, we begin by taking a quick look at the ties that bind this month, to recent (March 21- July 1st) global events. The whole world watched the horrible images of the assassination of yet another innocent, George Floyd. Many nations are still plagued by Covid-19. Almost everyone experiences, to some degree, the economic ramifications. Is this the social awakening we were looking forward to? Statements such as “we will emerge better people after this”, are still buzzing around. Are you impressed with such ‘demonstrations of social consciousness’, I most certainly am not. Political or large corporation leaders and the rest of us, experienced first hand, between March 21-July 1 2020 (Saturn Rx in Aquarius), the results of greed and arrogance. The need for fair treatment to all living entities and of course our planet, is painfully clear. Astrologically speaking, I will simplify the meaning of Saturn in Aquarius from March 21 to July 1st and then December 2020 to March 2023. On July 1st to December 17, Saturn briefly returns to Capricorn, one last time. This can be considered a time frame to apply those hard lessons we have learned, to better the quality of life, for everyone on the planet. Unfair tax systems, out of bounds government control, unaccountable corporations, that rule over governments and people, can not survive the next Saturn in Aquarius phase (December 2020 to March 2023). The Titanic is sinking. Unless balance is restored, there will be no shore left to swim to.

Our newcomers will find below a brief, yet vital introduction to our planets, in order of distance from the sun, closest to furthest. You may be curious enough to visit, but have no clue about astrology and zodiac signs.

• Sun: center of our galaxy, associated with Leo, sign of creative force-Helios in ancient Greece, the god of light.
• Mercury: nearest to the sun and fastest moving, associated with Gemini and Virgo, signs of communication-Hermes in ancient Greece, messenger for the gods.
• Venus: next in line and second brightest star on our sky, associated with Taurus and Libra, signs of strength and beauty-Aphrodite in ancient Greece, goddess of love.
• Earth: following suit, the planet of life growth, associated only by element (earth) with Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn- Gaia in ancient Greece, the primal mother earth goddess.
• Moon: the earth’s only natural satellite, associated with the sign of Cancer, sign of nurture- Artemis goddess of hunting and a healer of women.
• Mars: the red planet, associated with Aries, sign of assertion and drive –Aris in ancient Greece, god of war.
• Jupiter: the largest planet of our system radiates double the light it receives from the sun, associated with Sagittarius, sign of expansion and illumination- Zeus, in ancient Greece the god of gods.
• Saturn: next the ringed majestic planet of order, associated with Capricorn, sign of duty and dependability-in ancient Greece the god Pan, protector of woodlands and shepherds.
• Uranus: the gas giant, associated with Aquarius, the sign of innovation- Aquarius or beautiful Ganymede, the son of Trojan king Tros, was taken to Mount Olympus by Zeus to act as cup-carrier to the gods.
• Neptune: a striking blue giant, associated with Pisces, the sign of healing and illusion- in ancient Greece representing the fish into which Aphrodite and her son Eros transformed
• Pluto: the yellow dwarf planet or huge asteroid, associated with Scorpio, the intense truth-seeker- he was called on earth by Goddess Artemis to kill Orion, who wanted to destroy all animals.

You may notice occasionally, astrological dates can seem to be one (1) day off, (for example a planet enters a sign on the 12/13). This occurs because calculations are based on Tropical Midnight Ephemeris, Time Zone EDT (04 west). Add or subtract hours, based on your Time Zone.

2nd Pluto-Jupiter conjunction in Rx-retrograde ends July 9th.

Overview for July. From June 23 to July 9, Jupiter and Pluto, both in Rx-retrograde motion, form their 2nd direct conjunction for 2020. It is so easy to loose control of our actions, emotions and priorities. Pluto possesses the penetrating skills to put salt on the wound and Jupiter, to bring theses wounds to the surface. Reciprocity, through decisive but kind actions, heals. Mars, aggression and drive in fiery and impatient Aries all month, sets the stage until January 6, 2021!!! Actions now, have undoubtedly, long term effects. With Mars behind the wheel for such a long time, staying sober (from bad moods or alcohol) behind the wheel, is imperative! When Mercury (communication) is in Cancer (nurturing, emotional security), such issues come to light. This includes anxiety or an unhealthy addiction to the past. When positively aspected, it enhances our emotional I.Q. and nurturing abilities. Mercury is Rx-retrograde until July 12th, so havoc in travel, communication, agreements, is to be expected. This restless planet is also connected to health, so the chest and stomach areas will be more sensitive. Neptune, planet of imagination, illusions and the medical field is Rx-retrograde. The veil is lifted and we face hidden truths, personally and collectively. Last but not least, remember the number of planets Rx-retrograde in July; Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune, Pluto and Mercury (until the 12th). Abbreviated translation? Last, but not least, what about Mars, the red planet, associated with Aries, sign of assertion and drive? Aris in ancient Greece, was the god of war. When Mars enters Aries -June 27/28 to January 6, 2021!-, assertion, the desire to get things done, bravery and physical activity, is prominent. Great news! Let us roll our sleeves up and fix our home, life, neighborhood, planet. It is not always easy, but let us do our best to harness the positive characteristics of Mars and Aries. Mars in Aries intensifies our aggression, thoughtlessness, foolhardiness and bleeding. Not great news! It is not easy, but let us do our best to subdue the negative characteristics of Mars and Aries. I, for one, wish to put my affairs in order, to the best of my abilities of course. Just in time to begin a new life cycle and enjoy the New Year 2021 after January 6, free of baggage from the past. Aspects and dates. July 1st, Saturn temporarily leaves Aquarius and re-enters Capricorn until December 17, one last time. This is a collective opportunity to begin undoing the wrongs that plague our planet. On the day, the Sun and Mercury conjunct in Cancer and sextile Uranus. Innovative ideas can help us move forward, when emotional intelligence, intuition and practicality, are in balance. There is a risk taking tendency, amplified by Mars in Aries. Easy does it. There is a Full Moon at 13 degrees and 38 minutes Capricorn on the 5th. It urges us to keep the balance between a healthy home life and the need to succeed. This operates on both an individual and collective level. The planet is also our home and some of us trump all over it, in order to succeed. This Full Moon directly affects Cardinal signs, (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) or those with points on these degrees in their chart. It also permeates the Mercury-Mars square on July 8/9th.
