Nunchi
Nunchi* is a Korean word, with tremendous substance and impact, as it denotes the ability to conduct ourselves daily, with emotional connection to others. This way of being, is practiced at an early age in Korea. The direct translation is ‘eye measure”, meaning that common sense can allow each and every one of us to glance at a person or
situation, properly assess its energy and behave accordingly, with respect and understanding. How does this currently connect to our Western or Westernized culture? The stress that has accumulated on a personal and collective level since 2008 and culminated over the last two years, will send many of us in a tail spin, more so between January 15 to February 3. Astrologically speaking, the frequencies of love, art, money planet Venus in retrograde since December 20 to January 29 and communication, health and commerce planet Mercury, also in retrograde January 15 to February 3, are simply scrambled! Can you not only survive such shambles but enjoy a most productive time, as well? What if instead of loosing your temper with your family, friends, coworkers or a stranger on the street, you take a step back, breathe and consider that they may be just as pressured, confused or wronged, like you may be? A project that is stalled, may require a new angle. A relationship that fell apart, personal or business, was probably a blessing in disguise. You have tried all you can with your child, yet your best efforts don’t seem to pay off. What if you are simply a victim of surrounding circumstances and have lost it all? If you are done with the walks in nature, positive affirmation, even faking happiness, then this time frame, is ideal for you to ask for help. Just like an eye doctor would, check you and prescribe the correct glasses for you, so will a specialist in whatever aspect of your life troubles you, at the moment. Before you can ‘eye measure’ others’, begin with you. ‘Nunchi’ yourself. Love yourself.
