Virgo, the celestial virgin
Virgos work hard. We work hard to destroy the planet. If we reverse our actions, we will work hard to fix it.
According to the Greek Mythology, Astrea, was an immortal virgin (referring to purity of heart not physical) goddess, the last one to live among humans. She lived during the Golden Age of the human kind. The ancient Greek poet Hesiod, wrote about the five ages of human kind, beginning with the golden age, a time of prosperity and harmony, down to the iron
age, a time of strife and despair. Hesiod lived during this era, where humanity, respect for another life and prosperity had decayed. Astrea, was so heartbroken over the deterioration of the human race, she joined her beloved stars in the sky and became the constellation Virgo. Her tears reached the earth and the beautiful September flower, Aster emerged.
September is the Virgo birthday month (until the 22nd). This September when i look at the beautiful Aster flowers, I see the beauty of nature but i also see Astrea’s tears. I can not help but think of the downward spiral of human history, as we know it and are currently experiencing. The polarity between nations that starve and nations that have to throw food away, by regulation, precedes me. What can we do to bring life on our planet back into orbit? In September, I look into the Virgo traits for answers (hard work, love for all things organic, purity of thought); hard work is one. We do that already; we work hard to destroy the planet. If we reverse our actions, we will work hard to fix and maintain it. Seems logical. Love for the organic; organic food and respect for all bio (life) existence on the planet. Purity. Clarity of thought and purity of intention. Upon summary we see that with hard work, clear and pure intentions and love for all living organisms, we can do this. There is one question to answer; do we want to?
