Year of the Ox – Never give up.
Ten days from today, on February 12, the New Lunar Year of the Metal Ox is celebrated in China and around the globe. What does this entail and why would it interest the rest of the world?
This is yet another year of socioeconomic upheaval and injustice, of limitations and overall unrest. Most of us have a clear picture of the importance of operating on a platform that serves the better good, specifically, not allowing a handful of people to override and abuse everybody else’s basic human right to a dignified existence. It is interesting that the Year of the Ox begins a day only after the New Moon (New beginnings) in anthropocentric Aquarius, a New Moon with a long reach (2,000 years long), due to its timing; it joins five (Sun, Venus, Mercury, Saturn and Jupiter) planets in Aquarius this February and along with other aspects, heralds the well known by now, Age of Aquarius. So how does the ‘ox’ play in all this?
It is rather simple in its application really; all we need to do is adhere to the positive Ox traits and let go of the negative ones. The formidable Ox traits include; devotion, determination, dependability, endurance and common sense. If you are born in an Ox year you are resolute, industrious, reliable and in search of security. If you are a Metal Ox, you are also popular and active. Here is a good point to drop the negative traits, severity, narrow mindedness and self righteousness. There you have it; a combination of Ox strength and Aquarius humanism, will see you through the rest of the year. Never give up.
